BWRC, Here We Come!!!

Well the TPC3 are frantically preparing for their trip to Atlanta for the BWRC, where we will be launching TPC’s debut novel SELLOUT by James W. Lewis. It’s hard to believe a text message planted a seed just six months ago and it has grown into a tall, fruit-bearing tree. In six short months we created a vision for a publishing and author services company, implemented that vision, established web presence, obtained LLC status, developed a substantial facebook fanbase, and coordinated the editing and production of our debut novel SELLOUT. Now we head to Atlanta, with books to sell in hand, a legitimate publishing enterprise. We all worked so hard to get to this moment and it is finally here. We have officially arrived.

There is something very serendipitous about the TPC3 launching James’ book at the Black Writers Conference. After all, it was at this conference in July of 2006 where the TPC3 crossed paths for the very first time. (Amusingly, James initial contact where he first tried to “holla” at Steph occurred within the comment thread of this 2006 post–oh, how far we’ve come, lol. ) That fateful weekend, three aspiring authors arrived in Dallas with big dreams and manuscripts to sell. They didn’t come away with a book deal, but something even more powerful — lifelong friendships that would eventually serve as the foundation for an ambitious publishing venture, The Pantheon Collective (TPC). It is a testament to the mantra “everything happens for a reason” that these three particular souls converged at that particular moment in time, and it is very appropriate to bring it all full circle by choosing the BWRC as the site of our official launch.
