Loyal readers, forgive the blog silence, the TPC3 have been decompressing and recovering from a serious hustle session at the Black Writers Reunion and Conference. (Click here to view pictures) We headed out to Hotlanta with boxes full of books and an abundance of enthusiasm, ready to unveil the project we’ve spent the past six months nurturing and preparing for mass consumption. Sure there was a little bit of anxiety and stage fright, as well as the ever-present fatigue that comes from hustlin’ 24-7, but the TPC3 rose to the occasion and sold the hell out of those books! The response we received from our BWRC fam was amazing, as folks reached into their wallets to purchase a copy of one of the hottest books of the summer. Sales fully exceeded our expectations, and it was such an incredible feeling to see our dreams and vision translate into sales. Four years ago at the BWRC, the TPC3 were aspiring authors. Now we’ve returned, not just as published (and soon-to-be published) authors, but as owners of a fully operational publishing company with a product to push. It is truly amazing how far we have come.
The pride and accomplishment we all felt at the end of this whirlwind weekend was evident when we raised our glasses for our celebratory toast. We said we were going to start a publishing company, and we did! And we’re just getting started! In the first week of sales, we have already blown through our first print run, and the orders continue to pour in.
