While there was plenty of business to conduct at the 4th Power Summit (such as drafting the SELLOUT marketing plan and fleshing out the SELLOUT revisions), there was also a lot to celebrate. This was the first time the TPC Kindred had seen each other since receiving the LLC papers, so not only was this the moment where we officially SIGNED the papers to officialize the partnership, but this was also our opportunity to celebrate!!!
We have come a loooong way since our decision last December to join forces and start this publishing venture. We’ve had our fair share of ups and downs, stresses and strains, joys and triumphs. But putting pen to paper to legally bind ourselves to one another, and to our baby (aka TPC) was a whole other level of commitment and achievement. I’ve always dreamed about owning my own business, but I never imagined how fast that dream would materialize once I set my mind to turning dreams to reality. But the unimaginable has become tangible. TPC is LLC! We are so official!
The official signing took place at my brother’s house on Easter Sunday, which was very meaningful to me, personally. Not only were my nearest and dearest on hand to celebrate (and document!) the moment for us, but the family atmosphere really mirrored what this moment signified for us. James, Omar, and myself have taken a step that moves us beyond friends. We are now three individuals with a vested interest in maintaining this long-term relationship. Bound and bonded, for better or worse. Partners, Parents, and Spouses. We are FAMILY.

So as me and my two husbands (lol) move forward into the great unknown, I know we will always look back on this moment with great pride and accomplishment. The moment when our respective paths crossed, converged, and set off in a new direction. The moment when we went from Authors to Publishers. The moment we officially took control of our destinies. I can’t wait to see what comes next!
